1,-2,-2,4,-2,4,4,-8... is the beginning of Gould's sequence (Sloane's A001316),
with the minus signs distributed like the ones in Thue–Morse sequence (Sloane's A01006).

-1,3,3,-9,3,-9,-9,27... is the beginning of Sloane's A048883,

with the minus signs distributed like the zeros in Thue–Morse sequence.
