pdf2: 7,9,9 Got to graphical interpretation of A+B+C+D=R on https://cnx.org/contents/Ax2o07Ul@16.4:S9i77L2i@12/3-2-Vector-Addition-and-Subtraction-Graphical-Methods Also, students don't seem to have pdf3 a02 1Dkinem definitions. I might assign that for homework with the understanding that low test scores are OK?

09-09M (week3)

The class explored the non-commutivity of rotations using one die. Facing a page with the usual xy coordinate system, rotation A wa about the positive x-asis by 90 degrees by the RH rule. B was about the negative x axis.

We finished the chapter 3 slides. For an extreme example of the efficiency of notation, see https://www.pitt.edu/~jdnorton/Goodies/Zurich_Notebook/

Define "unity" to be 1 facing the user and 2 on top (with the die placed on a table in front of the user.

  • AB results in 5 in front 3 on top.
  • BA results in 3 in front an 1 on top.
obviously AB≠BA
